The shading method is also simply runtime adjustable between near photo quality and
highest application performance. Automatic texture size reduction for distant
objects and texture compression on large images improves rendering speed at only a
small reduction in quality. The advanced Bionic 3D scenegraph allows many
performance optimisations like visibility culling, portaling, matrix and geometry
caching, automatic shader and depth sorting and very efficient node cloning. It also
allows easy access to cached information to the application, e.g. for physics and
collision calculations. Complete scenegraphs can be imported easily from Maya
scenegraph files. No proprietary editor is required for modelling.
